Abstract

For nutrition and food exploitation, a unicellular green alga Dunaliella salina A9, isolated from saltern in Khanh Hoa province-Viet Nam, was investigated for total carotene, phenolics and antioxidant capacity under various unfavourable culture conditions. The obtained data revealed that the highest content of total carotene, simultaneously with high phenolics and antioxidant capacity was achieved at high light intensity of 500 µmol photon/m2/s, which should be considered for nutritional exploitation of the alga under both open and close cultivation systems.
