Abstract

Pregnancy related Pure Red Cell Aplasia is a relatively rare disorder of the erythroid series seen only in relation to pregnancy. Here we describe a case who presented with pure red cell aplasia during her pregnancy. She was managed successfully with multiple blood transfusions and corticosteroids. It is important to keep this diagnosis in mind when a pregnant patient presents with severe anemia with reticulocytopenia.
