A test was made at the level of laboratory of weed science INRA (Morocco), to see the effect of herbicide residues on the germination and growth of the following crop, samples of soils were taken from plots treated the previous year by different cereal herbicides (hussar, atlantis, cossack, topick+printazole), and a control sample came from the untreated plot located in the experimental field Allal Tazi INRA Kenitra. The samples collected at three depths (0-10,10-20,20-30) cm were put in plastic pots and stored in the laboratory to be used as a substrate for germination of beet and faba bean seeds. The results showed that there was no effect of the herbicide residues used in the previous crop (wheat) on the germination and growth rate of faba bean, while the beet seeds were germinated but they were developed slowly in the soils treated with the 2 herbicides hussar and atlentis.
