India is a traditional silk producing country and occupy second position in the world. However, production of quality silk is still a limiting factor. In India, one of the most important factor which reduces the production of quality cocoons in turn inferior quality silk is due to inappropriate mountages used. Present communication clearly indicates the use of rotary mountages enhance not only quantity but appreciably enhance the production of quality cocoons and quality silk. Newly designed and developed Plastic Rotary mountages showed similar performance compared to Japanese Card Board mountages.
