The chapter describes the switching functions of Microsoft Excel. It focuses on the creation of decision-making formulas, examples show the use of function SWITCH and compares it to well-known Excel function IF. Microsoft Excel has the basic features of all spreadsheets using a grid of cells arranged in numbered rows and letter-named columns to organize data manipulations like arithmetic operations. Using functions in modeling economic and financial models in spreadsheet software Microsoft Excel is necessary. Formulas are easier to grasp when the new switching function SWITCH is used instead of the outdated logical function IF that is nested inside of another logical function IF and has several closed brackets at the conclusion. Users may find it easier to create formulas with the aid of new logical switching features.
